Alfred Dunhill goes classical in Hong Kong
Dunhill has just unveiled a new concept store in the Prince’s Building in Hong Kong’s central district with a return to its heritage over three floors of complete Englishness. Centre stage on the middle floor is a wine cellar and restaurant managed by renowned Chinese chef and restaurateur Yung Kee, traditional with a touch of Chinoiserie. Classic as the clothes are the visual merchandising and propping evokes old time Piccadilly with billiard table, old English maps, trays laid for tea time and vintage car paraphernalia. A men’s paradise but don’t think for a second this is a museum as Hong Kong residents and tourist alike are lapping this up. More traditional looking Dunhill stores are in the pipeline, as authenticity in the luxury market becomes the benchmark in retailing.
Coming soon in Hong Kong: Tyler Brule launches the latest Monocle retail concept in Pacific Place.
