Backstage Countdown for Marc Jacobs AW10/11

Scout has been busy tweeting with Robert Duffy, the President of the Marc Jacobs empire who has given us lots of behind the scenes insights of Marc and his team getting prepped for Mondays upcoming AW11/12 catwalk show in NY. Robert has really upped the expectations of this collection as it unfolds with his wonderful and witty comments, from the who’s who behind the production as well as what we can expect to see on the catwalk. It’s so hush hush in fact that we can’t reveal too much. But what we can tell you through a few words and pictures is that it is going to be one of Marc’s strongest collections to date. We can’t wait!

So here’s what we can tell you...

-It takes a team of around 800 talented and dedicated people to put the collection and show together including a team of 40 hairstylists and 40 makeup artists

-It took 7 hours just to do the girls nails and some of them are wearing gloves! “Not a waste of time” according to Robert.

-Marc does some of the model casting himself

-Juergen Teller has already had a sneak peak at the clothes for the upcoming campaign

-Music production by Frederic Sanchez is inspired by ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’, slight tongue in cheek as we hear that there might be a lack of colour in the collection. Very clever Marc!

-There will be a live streaming of the show on www.marcjacobs.com 8pm NY time (N.B. it will probably run late…) that’s approx 11.30am Syd time
