British Fashion Awards 2009

It was the night of nights for the British Fashion industry with Burberry and Christopher Bailey receiving the top awards for Designer Brand and Designer Of The Year and understandably so after such a great homecoming show in London at the SS10 collections in September. Menswear Designer Of The Year went to Kim Jones for his acclaimed work with Dunhill over the last two collections. Katie Hillier took out the Accessory Designer Award after her successful collaborations with Marc By Marc Jacobs, Luella and House Of Holland. Katie launched her own line earlier this year selling to Dover Street Market and Colette in Paris, so the one to watch. Nice to see Christopher Kane get recognition for Collection Of The Year, he’s had huge press coverage for his Top Shop collections and now his work for the Versus label which is suddenly hot again. Grace Coddington (Scouts favourite Creative Director and the person we’d most like to sit next too at dinner) was given the prestigious Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator. As always her understated signature dress code of all black with flame red hair was glamour to a capitol T!
