Hostem Boutique hosts ‘The One Room Hotel’
No sooner had we mentioned London’s Redchurch Street as a hot spot to watch, we find out about the opening of an innovative new ‘One Room’ hotel/installation concept. Hosted by new menswear boutique ‘Hostem’ and just in time for the London Design Festival, the boutique interior and hotel concept is designed by duo James Russell and Hannah Plumb of Jamesplumb. The unique One Room hotel offers an innovative, completely intimate experience, which by day is a static exhibition of the designers’ lovingly restored furniture pieces salvaged from vintage and thrift store treasures. By night the space transforms into a habitable room complete with a personal selection of books and films on hand for occupants to entertain themselves. The designers explain; ‘we wanted to take our installations a step further and allow others to inhabit them rather than just pass though, to have the experience for themselves’. The suite comprises of a centre-piece double bed, a modular storage system comprised of suitcases, bed linen supplied by Matteo and gorgeous bathroom products courtesy of Aeosop.
