London Insider: Hoxton and Shoreditch
We’re giving you a peek at the style scenes of London town, this week in the creative hub of Hoxton and Shoreditch. Home of design agencies, café-cum-boutique hybrid stores, street art and alternative nightlife aplenty…this district nurtures young talent, exposes artists in the making and defies the mainstream.
On the new openings front, the Nobrow Shop and Gallery is a new independent store stocking all kinds of graphic products from arty books to limited edition prints, tees, collectibles and self-published zines. KK Outlet are still going strong with their Colette Paris Swapshop (as previously featured on Scout!) There’s a couple of new watering holes on the block too in the form of Thai restaurant Busaba Eathai and B@1.
Trendsters flock to cult boutiques Start, Hoxton Boutique, No-One, Wholesome, Present, Good Hood and The Three Threads for an independent pick of everything from the super-luxe to the underground street. Watch this space as we wait for the new season drop…
Our hot tip for you is the up and coming Redchurch Street – a strip that’s been bubbling under the radar for a while lined with independent art galleries. Backstreet boutique ‘Forster Inc’ is home to a temporary vintage and jumble pop-up store stocking a curated mix of the retro and love-worn. At the other end of the scale Aubin + Wills, best described as the British equivalent of Abercrombie and Fitch (in terms of the clothes, not the models!) has just opened a huge three-storey flagship complete with and cinema in the basement.
Next stop….Angel
