Melbourne Looks Pretty in Gorman
Despite a lingering chill, leg-baring minis and summer-perfect hues are teasing us from the shop windows that are quickly beginning to welcome the New Season in Melbourne. Gorman is one such brand whose polka dot shop façade signals the arrival of the new SS10 collection. Contrasting a soft femininity with accents of modern minimalism, the range, Paint, Draw and Colour In is a careful nod to the utilitarian yet girly silhouette the label is known for. Offsetting delicate peach and denim blue are injections of cerise pink and toughened black. Similarly frills are balanced with modern, man-ish silhouettes of tailored shorts and Oxford pants. Waists commonly sit high and inform a strong 50’s style that is further highlighted with a recurring large-scale polka dot print. Now, all we need is some sunshine and the temperature to raise about 20 degrees!
