Nan Goldin shoots for Scanlan and Theodore

Our designs exist to reflect the integrity of a woman and resonate her unique individualism” says Gary Theodore of Australian (Melbourne) label Scanlan and Theodore, which led him to collaborate with model Erin Wasson and counter-culture photographer Nan Goldin for the labels Spring/Summer shots. Gary has previously chosen David Armstrong and the controversial Bill Henson to shoot for the brand.
Goldin, best known for documenting the post-punk new wave music and transgender scene of the 70s and 80s, met Wasson (who, besides being a muse to Alexander Wang, designs her own jewellery line Low Luv) in a ramshackle mansion in New York State with distressed walls and shabby-chic furniture as the location for the shoot. The images produced really offset the collection, which, according to Theodore, “plays on contradiction with a feeling of warm and cool, both in the colours and the fabrics.”
