RAFW Wednesday - 2 very different shows

Our favourite shows yesterday went from one end of the fashion spectrum to the other.

Jayson Brunsdon’s Pool Scene was ultimate poolside chic, inspired by David Hockney’s paintings. Crip white cotton broderie anglaise dirndl skirts softened with pastel chenille knits. We think it’s one of Jayson’s most commercial ranges. He has sourced some fabulous fabrics for the season from silk seersuckers to crunchy plastic raincoating. We loved the lurex printed sheer mini trench, classic styling given a twist with a modern fabric. Of course you’ll still find a sequinned gown to wear to the casino in St Tropez after your day on the beach. The girl Scout’s can’t wait to get their feet into the gelato coloured patent wedges next Summer.

Then later last night Romance Was Born's Renaissance Dinosaur show was the most impressive and creative events of the week to date. Fantastic overstyled head dresses, mesh body suits, a dress with a turtle head and talon length nails pounded down the catwalk strewn with crystals and tanbark. Despite the show being super theatrical we still spotted some easy to wear and beautifully made garments in the collection. Crystal printed swimwear and leggings, great leather pieces and sequinned party dresses will work well for them at retail.
