Redheads

Remember a couple of years ago when everyone wanted a redhead in their ad campaign, then a league of gap-toothed blondes took over and Nicole and Lilo lost their lustrous colour? Well, those gorgeous, quirky redheads are back. Karen Elson has just replaced Angelina Jolie as the face of St John, after appearing on the H&M billboards and underground posters last year. H&M have followed this up using more redheads for the Sonia Rykiel knitwear campaign. Lily Cole will follow up her role in Terry Gilliam’s “The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus” with roles in another Lewis Carroll biopic this year. Add to that, Johnny Depp’s much-anticipated turn as a carrot-top Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland later this year, and Liv Tyler going red for an upcoming movie role this month, and it’s clear that we’re going to see red this year.
