Retail Watch: Dover Street Market, London

London’s favourite concept store has a host of projects on the go for the high summer season. Quite possibly the scariest windows we have ever seen…EVER!…designer Adam Kimmel has teamed up once again with artist George Condo for the occasion. The ghastly mannequins display the season’s casual menswear tailoring.
Meanwhile through the doors, Comme des Garcons have opened a cute graphic boutique displaying their capsule collection with the Exit Store. The range of motif tshirts play on the iconic CDG heart. A delightful new shoe and bag space plays on the poetic concept of a burnt-out ballroom. Designed by, By Studio Andy Hillman shiny patent shoes and glistening bejewelled handbags contrast with the charred instruments and singed wall covering.
The ongoing Comme des Garçons 365 boutique is open for 365 days with new products including a ‘pacifist’ bullet proof vest designed for Moncler by Pharrell Williams. The design is made from Bionic Yarn (an American company owned by Pharrell), which derives from recycled plastic bottles.
