Scout Goes Casual

We’ve been scouting the globe and reporting on the casual scene for a while as contributors to Textile View magazine and on the Scout web site, but this is the first time that we’ve produced a hardcopy casualwear report. We’ve been asked so many times why we don’t do a Scout casual book, when we live in one of the most casual and relaxed countries in the world and for somewhere so famed for its laidback approach to fashion, a definitive report from Australia is definitely needed. So after a lot of thought and research, we decided to take it one step further and publish what we think will be an essential source of info and inspiration for casual brands and lifestyle-focussed designers.

SCOUT CASUAL is designed exclusively for the casual, denim, sports, leisure and active markets to get designers and product developers into the design and garment development process for AW11/12. We’ve had a lot of fun trawling the globe and gathering intelligence so there’s a whole heap of must-see information, drawn from many sources. We’re switched on to the best youth and casual brands, what’s happening on the street, music festivals, art happenings, sports events as well developments in fabric and garment technologies. you’ll find colour palettes and colour usage by trend and market, specifically selected for casual styling and fabrics and fully Pantone swatched, working in harmony with the season’s key trends and looks. There’s mood and research material to inspire a designers best work, styling and outfits gathered from the runway, the street, trade fairs and retail. Fabrics and details for close-ups that matter, graphic and labelling inspiration plus detailed technical garment sketches to help the design process. With over 230 pages of informative and inspirational ideas we’re quietly confident that this trend report will become an essential design resource. We love it and had a fantastic time pulling it all together.
