Wave Ready

The surf look it always a standard summer trend and this season was no exception, full of board shorts, neoprene dresses, neon piping and Hawaiian floral prints. Pret-A-Surf made its warm weather debut with a collection of swimsuits, beach cover-ups and rash guards in bold primary colours, reminiscent of Mondrain paintings. The line offers full functioning surf gear with a stylist twist, filling a strangely void niche in the active wear market.

Jillian Demling, an Editor at Vogue and Karen Mulligan, Annie Leibovitz’s studio manager and veteran surfer teamed up to create the line. Sourcing solid performance fabrics and infusing them with pin up girl bikini silhouettes, the line appeals to both the sports inclined and those seeking pure aesthetics. Terry cloth jumpers are perfect for throwing on over a gingham gray suit, post surf. Snappy zippers make rash guard tops perfect for the water or an afternoon out. Fruity printed board shorts easily transition from sand to sidewalk.

Pret-A-Surf debuted at the Brooklyn cult surf shop, Mollusk and it also featured at Opening Ceremony and Jeffery in New York.
