ELLERY On the Rise

At SCOUT, we're always proud to celebrate Australian design, and so with Paris Fashion Week just behind us, we had to mention one particular collection. This season, Ellery mixed turn of the century iconography with a nod to the 70s. Corsetry was hinted at, though never pulled tight, and fur and lamé gave a sense of glamour to the runway. Of course, it wouldn’t be the work of Kim Ellery without her flares, and this time they were not just on pants but also shirt cuffs, skirts and dress hems. She also expanded her offering into denim with a bell-bottomed dark wash, as well as a debut shoe line. Ellery has presented in Paris for a few seasons now, though the expansion of her offering this season has received more attention than ever before. Let’s hope it continues!
